Tucked away on the western coast of Tomales Bay is the small community Inverness. It was christened by a Scottish land owner on the lines of Inverness located in Scotland. It is predominantly a residential area with a flourishing tourism industry. Inverness is well known for its commercial and recreational boating facilities particularly the public marina and the Inverness Yacht Club.
