Decked to the east of Marysville and also one of the former lavish settlements of the Nevada County, Sweetland began as a mining settlement and is today a prominent tourist location in the county. Elevated at a level of 2075 feet above sea level, a walk through the town reveals its rustic mining beauty. One can find quite decent accommodations and restaurants in Sweetland, though it is advised to stay don at Marysville and travel to Sweetland for a day picnic or adventure trip. The ruins of the mining town can be pretty interesting to observe how the town evolved within itself, right from a mining town to a versatile settlement today.
